The recent study from McMaster University was followed full-body resistance training program over the course of a 12-week with 49 young men. About half the participants had used lighter weights ranging from 20 to 25 repetitions (Each person weights were set at 30 to 50% the amount he could lift one time).

And the other half those who lifted heavier weights (set at 75% to 90% of each man’s one- repetition maximum) for sets ranging from 8 to 12 reps.

The both groups worked until they feel fatigue. Finally the researchers found that gains in muscular strength and size among participants in both groups were not significantly different.
